GI 21. maj: Increased violence against political dissidents, police should be more effective

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Civic Initiative “21. maj” calls on the Police Directorate and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) to publicly announce what actions they have taken regarding death threats against Member of Parliament of Montenegro Predrag Bošković and the rude behavior towards civic activist Ivana Pajović.

“An unknown person on the portal “IN4S” published a comment addressed to Bošković which reads “For you and your master, a bullet is the only cure”. The IN4S portal has been behaving irresponsibly for many years by publishing illegal comments, and its editors and journalists are most often the initiators of hate speech and aggression”, states GI 21.maj..

As they added, Prime Minister Dritan Abazović has never condemned the writing of the IN4S portal nor called for the improvement of media responsibility and culture, and to stop the practice of approving and publishing illegal, disturbing comments.

Civic Initiative “21. maj” calls on the Police Directorate to announce what it has done regarding the rude and inconsiderate behavior in a public place of a certain Pavle Radević from Cetinje towards civic activist Ivana Pajović.

“Radević called Pajović “mentally ill”, “a mongrel” and “paid lackey cattle” on the social network Facebook, for which Pajović, with accompanying evidence, reported him to the police and the state prosecutor’s office. The behavior of a certain Pavle Radević goes beyond freedom of speech and represents rude and inconsiderate behavior that has disturbed the female activist”, they state.

The person who sent disturbing and primitive e-mail messages to the directorate of the Civic Initiative “21. maj” has also been reported to the Police Directorate, in connection with an incident between Russian and Ukrainian tourists in a catering facility in Petrovac.
