NEW YORK, (Patria) - The United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted a resolution condemning Israel for violence and excessive use of force in that country, after the US request to add a condemnation of Hamas attacks on Israeli territory to the document was rejected.
The resolution, proposed by Algeria, Turkey, and Palestine, was adopted with 120 votes in favour, eight against, and 45 abstentions.
Mass protests on the border of the Gaza Strip and Israel began on March 30.
Since then, more than 120 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 4,000 have been wounded by Israeli fire.
