Gegić: As an artist, I made a film about Alen Muhić

The film "The Invisible Child's Stigma" reveals the taboo subject of raped women, and the name was conceived to protect every child, it was said today at a press conference on the occasion of its premiere screening in Sarajevo, writes the BH news agency Patria.

As director Šemsudin Gegić himself says, there are many such children, but Alen Muhić is one and only and unique.

- Two walkers lie within each of us, and in this film, the first walker is Alen Muhić, and the second is Armin Omerović, who walk together.

Gegić wrote three synopses for the trilogy Children of War 15 years ago, the first of which will be Alen Muhić. The film is full of secrets, solutions, and challenges.

- Sarajevo deserves to know how I experience film. Before the war, Ćamil Sijarić wrote Todor. It is a young, beautiful girl who lives with her father. She is captured and raped by the Nazis, after which she becomes pregnant, and her father, trying to save her, is killed. Todor gives birth to a child, a blue-eyed boy, but the whole town turns against her because she gave birth to a German bastard. They forget that she is a fighter. I am an artist who made a story about Todor, or rather Todor, Alen Muhić. Sarajevo is my city, this is where it originated – said Gegić.

Last night's premiere in Tuzla was accompanied by emotions, and everyone who watched the film relived the depicted events. As stated, the film met expectations, has great support, and positive reviews, and among those present in the audience were women from Srebrenica and Višegrad.

The protagonist of the film, Alen Muhić, said that there is great interest in this film both in BiH, as well as in Serbia and Croatia.

Actor Armin Omerović said that this film does not accuse anyone, and it was made as an artistic and symbolic fictional documentary film. Preparations for the film lasted six months.

- Until you emotionally experience the situation, until it emotionally passes through you, it cannot be shown on screen. The scenes were emotionally difficult, so I was always alone after filming. Alen Muhić is one of thousands of children who have come forward and started a search. This film is a treasure for me, I feel a duty towards all women and boys who are growing up to publicly convey a message.

The premiere of this film will be held on Thursday at Cinema City starting at 7:30 PM.
