Where is the longest street in Croatia located?

(Patria) - The municipality of Strizivojna has the longest street in Croatia. It is Braće Radić Street, 7.8 kilometers long, and has borne that name since 1945.

This is stated on the website of the municipality of Strizivojna, located in the southeastern part of Osijek-Baranja County, reports Punkufer.hr.

The length of the street actually varies from 7.2 to 8.6 kilometers, depending on who measures it and what is included, i.e., whether it includes the settlement of Soljak.

According to the 2021 census, about 2,000 people live in Strizivojna, and as many as 70 percent live on Braće Radić Street.

Braće Radić Street encompasses around 600 house numbers, and it houses all the important places in the municipality - from the school and clinic to the post office, pharmacy, and various shops.

Slavonska Avenue in Zagreb is twice as long. Specifically, it is 18 kilometers long, which automatically gives it the title of the longest street in Croatia.

However, Slavonska Avenue, which stretches from Savska Street eastward to the Ivanja Reka interchange, is more often considered a Zagreb thoroughfare than a street in the urban, sociological, or cultural sense, which is why many exclude it from these lists.

The City of Kaštela portal, on the other hand, claims that they have the longest street in Croatia.

"Namely, Dr. Franje Tuđmana Road, known to many Kaštela residents as the Old Kaštela Road, is almost exactly twice as long as Braće Radić Street," they write on the portal.

According to Google Maps data, it is about 16 kilometers long.

They also note that Dr. Franje Tuđmana Road is the lifeline of Kaštela and that, given the city's division into seven smaller connected settlements along the coast of Kaštela Bay (Sućurac, Gomilica, Kambelovac, Lukšić, Stari, Novi, and Štafilić), it represents a kind of city center.
