Where in Europe is it easiest and hardest to obtain citizenship?

(Patria) - Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands are European countries where it is easiest to obtain citizenship, according to research by the Canadian Immigration Agency (CanadaCIS).

And if you are wondering where you will struggle the most to convince them to take you in, those are Estonia, Latvia and the Czech Republic, reports Punkufer.

People who work remotely mostly have no problem choosing a destination from which to do their job, but moving is a different story.

CanadaCIS analysed Eurostat immigration data from 2009 to 2021, taking into account the percentage of approved applications.

The data shows that Sweden, with a rate of 9.3 percent, has twice as many approved applications as the EU average.

Given that Sweden regularly appears on the list of the happiest countries in Europe and the world, it is no surprise that it is a desired destination for many people seeking a new start.

However, obtaining citizenship in Estonia is far from simple, as suggested by the mere 0.6 percent rate.
