In the Sarajevo gallery Duplex 100m2 (Obala Kulina bana), the exhibition by Bojan Stojčić "Being Present" was set up over the weekend and will be open from February 10th, writes the BH News Agency Patria.
Stojčić's work is primarily associated with interventions in public space, both physical and virtual. These interventions are textual and almost always express the artist's intimate thoughts and ideas. Placed in specific spaces or on objects that make up the artist's everyday life, the works carry a message provoked by space and time, and the artist's position within those frameworks. Some works (realized within public institutions) are politically and socially engaged, using the very symbolism of the space as a carrier of metaphor.
Works realized in the studio are paintings based on words, devoid of visual manifestations, or drawings that include various narratives.
The exhibition will feature a significant number of works, including photographs, installations, paintings, and drawings. Bojan Stojčić was a finalist for the ZVONO Award for the Best Young Artist in 2014, as well as the recipient of the Award for Classical Drawing at the National Drawing Annual in 2014, Patria.
