FUZIP requests amendments to regulations to combat the grey economy

The FBiH Government adopted the report of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs (FUZIP) on intensified inspection oversight in the areas of labor relations, internal trade, crafts, hospitality, control of unregistered activities, and the application of fiscalization, reports Patria News Agency.

The Government mandated FUZIP to urgently submit initiatives for amendments to regulations in specific areas to the Federal Ministries of Justice, Trade, Finance, and Labor and Social Policy, with the aim of combating the "grey economy." The ministries are obliged to urgently review and, if necessary, harmonize and submit proposed amendments to regulations affecting the development of the "grey economy" to the Government for adoption.

FUZIP, in cooperation with cantonal inspection authorities, will continue oversight in the segment of fiscalization application and compliance with labor legislation, especially with entities that have a history of illegal operations and to whom temporary measures of work prohibition were imposed in previous oversight activities, as well as where administrative measures for rectifying deficiencies were ordered. The FBiH Tax Administration is tasked, upon the request of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs and cantonal inspection authorities responsible for labor legislation, to provide direct access to the electronic Unified System for Registration, Control, and Contribution Collection of taxpayers to verify employee status, i.e., control registrations and de-registrations and changes during insurance.

The Government mandated the Federal Ministry of Finance and the FBiH Tax Administration to intensify activities in educating the general public about the importance and necessity of demanding the issuance of fiscal receipts in the trade of goods and services.

Cantonal governments are recommended to, in accordance with the valid urban plans of municipalities, through relevant services, take measures to remove illegally constructed facilities that are linked to the performance of illegal activities, especially in the centers of urban zones. In this regard, it is necessary to review or cancel documentation that may be related to these phenomena. In order to increase expected effectiveness in achieving better results in the fight against the "grey economy," the Government has approved FUZIP's request to hire 30 federal inspectors.
