FUP arrests 11 people in Sarajevo: They were preparing a terrorist attack, ISIL flag found during search

At the order of the prosecutor from the Terrorism Department of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, an extensive operation is being carried out in the Sarajevo Canton area, implemented by police officers of the Federal Police Administration with the support of partner police agencies and the OSA BiH, announced the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The targets of the activities are around 15 individuals, for whom there is information and evidence that they are close to and maintain contacts with radical groups and structures of ISIL, as well as structures connected to individuals on the battlefields of Syria and Iraq.

As part of the search, two places of religious gathering for radical individuals are being searched, as well as several houses and private properties they use. Searches were carried out at about ten locations. During the search, certain evidentiary materials were found, indicating a connection with ISIL structures.

It is important to note that searches are also being conducted in settlements near the location of Rajlovac, where on November 18 a terrorist attack occurred in which 2 soldiers of the Armed Forces of BiH were killed.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH assures the citizens of BiH that Bosnia and Herzegovina has the capacity to detect and prosecute individuals connected to terrorism and radical groups, and that together with police and security agencies in our country, as well as with partner agencies abroad, it will take all activities to eliminate terrorist threats and dangers to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The mentioned individuals are under investigation for the criminal offenses of public incitement to terrorist activities and recruitment for terrorist activities under Articles 202a and 202b of the Criminal Code of BiH.
