FUP: Three persons arrested in Tuzla, weapons seized

Police officers of the Federal Police Administration today, after a several-month investigation, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton and with the support of the FUP Special Police Unit, are carrying out an operational action „Majevica“ in the area of Tuzla Canton.

As part of the said action, and by order of the Municipal Court in Tuzla, searches were conducted at four locations in the area of the said canton, while a search at a fifth location is still ongoing, and three persons from Tuzla with initials S.K. (born 1965), E.K. (born 1972) and S.S. (born 1976) were deprived of their liberty.

- The persons were deprived of their liberty for committing the criminal offense of „Illegal possession of weapons or explosive substances“ under Article 371, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in that over a longer period of time they illegally procured, kept and concealed a larger quantity of firearms, ammunition and explosives, which they then put into circulation by selling to third unknown persons from the area of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the searches, a larger quantity of firearms (a light machine gun, one kg of explosives, a Heckler, a hand launcher, several automatic rifles, pistols and bombs, a larger quantity of ammunition and magazines for automatic weapons), as well as several mobile phones and SIM cards used to commit the subject criminal offense, and other items originating from or related to it, have been found and seized so far.

After the searches, the persons deprived of their liberty will be brought to the official premises of the Federal Police Administration in Tuzla for criminal processing, after which they will be handed over within the legal deadline, together with a Report on the committed criminal offense, to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton - the FUP announced.
