France launched airstrikes against ISIS

France announced that it launched a military intervention against the Islamic State in Syria on Sunday, French media reported, according to the Patria News Agency.

As announced, French warplanes carried out the first attacks on ISIS positions in Syria on Sunday, but other details are not known. French planes had previously attacked ISIS positions in Iraq on several occasions.

France notes that a "global solution must be found for the Syrian problems" and that "civilians must be protected from all forms of violence, both from ISIS and other terrorist groups, as well as from the deadly bombing by Bashar al-Assad", reports NAP.
