Forto commented, and it would have been better if he hadn't: He called healthcare workers, teachers, and police 'budget eaters'

(Patria) - Outgoing KS Prime Minister Edin Forto commented on Twitter today regarding the consideration of the KS Budget for 2023 at a KS Government session. Forto stated that KS has a loss of 110 million KM based on amendments to the Law on Public Revenues.

However, what is interesting is that Forto called these amendments to the law unconstitutional, even though the Constitutional Court of FBiH has not considered the constitutionality assessment nor made any ruling.

"A loss of 110 million KM due to an unconstitutional amendment to the Federal Law on Public Revenues (the Constitutional Court of FBiH refuses to consider our request for a constitutionality assessment). At the same time, the increase in the income of budget eaters in KS is 86 million KM annually," Forto wrote.

Comments followed that did not favor Forto, with Twitter users asking where the money from inflation went, didn't the KS Government already account for inflation and create the budget accordingly, while some told him that this was the reason why he is "moving to another position."

Otherwise, the request from eight unions, including unions of education, police, healthcare, and public utilities, asked for a salary increase of 120 KM for every employee on the KS Budget due to the rising cost of living. Given that the KS Government decided before New Year's that there was no money and that the base salary could be discussed, the Coordination of Unions scheduled protests for January 23.
