Case Formed: BiH Prosecutor's Office Investigates BiH Armed Forces Parade on January 9 in Banja Luka

The BiH Prosecutor's Office has formed a case regarding the engagement of the Third Infantry (Republika Srpska) Regiment of the BiH Armed Forces at the celebration of the unconstitutional holiday, Republic Day of Srpska, on January 9 in Banja Luka.

Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Boris Grubešić told the Patria News Agency that he cannot speak about names, details, or specifics.

It is unknown whether the investigation was initiated ex officio, based on a criminal complaint filed by SDP, DF, and GS, or based on the Decision of the BiH Constitutional Court on non-execution of the verdict regarding January 9.

On January 9, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Mladen Ivanić, paraded members of the BiH Armed Forces at the observance of the unconstitutional holiday in Banja Luka without the consent of the other two members of the BiH Presidency.

Although he had the legal right only to the Honor Guard of the BiH Armed Forces, Ivanić, despite warnings from General Giselle Wilz addressed to the Minister of Defense Marina Pendeš on January 5, paraded members of the BiH Armed Forces unconstitutionally and illegally.

In addition, four Serb generals of the BiH Armed Forces also attended the ceremony on the occasion of the unconstitutional holiday held in the Borik hall. 

An investigation into this case was conducted within the BiH Ministry of Defense, and the report was submitted by the Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces, General Anto Jeleč, to the members of the BiH Presidency.
