According to the latest information available to the management of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (UKCS), the transport of patient M.K. (16) went well. A consortium of doctors has been formed to receive him upon arrival at the Clinic which has a Burn Center in Genoa, UKCS announced, reports Patria.
Initially, artificial skin will be implanted in the patient, and after that, keratinocytes will be grown. This Center has many years of experience with procedures on patients who had a higher percentage of burns than patient M.K.
Dr. Vanis Dujso, a specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery, accompanied patient M. K. at all times.
We remind you that in the relocation operation, besides UKCS, Mirsad Kebo, Vice President of the Federation of BiH, was also involved after holding talks with the management and doctors of UKCS.
Patient M. K. is life-threateningly injured, as 65 percent of his body is affected by burns. Unfortunately, his respiratory system is also affected, due to which he was unable to breathe on his own and was connected to machines.
