Foča residents to block the road of death tomorrow: They told Dodik to either repair it or close it completely

Hundreds of citizens of Foča have announced that they will close traffic on the Foča – Šćepan Polje road, known as the road of death, where three girls lost their lives at the beginning of the year, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria. The people of Foča are demanding that the authorities in the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska urgently repair this road, as it has so far claimed many lives.

From the non-governmental organization "Movement for Foča", which is organizing tomorrow's protests and the road closure, they announced that the main road Foča - Šćepan Polje will be closed from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, and that this is only a warning to the authorities ahead of larger protests if they do not urgently solve the problem of this road. The gathering of Foča residents is announced in the place of Brod.

The road from Foča towards Šćepan Polje is an extremely busy road, but it resembles more of a goat path than a main road. At the beginning of the year, three girls died on this section when a bus plunged into a ravine. Just a few days later, experts discovered that the cause of the accident was precisely the poor road, on which buses practically cannot operate due to sharp curves and steep inclines.

The authorities in the entity of Republika Srpska have been announcing for several years that they will turn this road into a modern one, worth millions of marks, but this has still not happened, writes Patria.
