(Patria) - The Food Safety Agency of BiH, as confirmed to Patria, recently received a request from a company from Tešanj to allow them to import flavored hemp/cannabis water.
As unofficially confirmed to us, a request for information on the classification of the product, as a food supplement/general use product, was sent on behalf of the client Amtex d.o.o Tešanj, which wishes to import the product in question into BiH.
The product they wish to import is flavored hemp/cannabis water.
The company is actually interested in whether any type of import permit from the Food Safety Agency or any competent institution is required for the same product during the import procedure for this type of goods, and whether they need to officially contact them, in the form of a request, to obtain an opinion/approval for the import of this product.
Otherwise, representatives of several associations of severely ill citizens of BiH have called on competent institutions to undertake appropriate activities for the legalization of cannabis for medical purposes.
Saša Magazinović, a representative of SDP, previously stated that it is estimated that more than 10,000 citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are currently being treated using cannabis, emphasizing that the consumption of cannabis for any purpose other than medical should be separated.
He states that the state is doing nothing to resolve this issue. He noted that the recommendation of the World Health Organization, as in other countries, is to allow the use of cannabis for medical purposes.
