Cinematic Heist in Gračanica, ATM Dragged by Jeep, Police Shot At

A cinematic heist took place this morning in the village of Kolkotnica near Gračanica, when unknown individuals attempted to steal an NLB bank ATM around three in the morning, writes the portal Republika, reports Patria.

According to the portal Republika.co.ba, the robbers tied the ATM to a jeep, managed to rip it from its base, after which a silent alarm was activated at the aforementioned bank. Immediately after this event, the police arrived at the scene, followed by an armed confrontation.

- Upon seeing the police, the currently unknown robbers fired several shots at the MUP officers, after which they fled in the jeep. They dragged the stolen ATM behind them the entire time - said Izudin Šarić, spokesperson for the MUP of TK, for the portal Republika.co.ba.

The officers of the MUP of TK showed great bravery during this operation. The group of fleeing robbers dragged the ATM for three to four kilometers before stopping, intending to load the ATM into a car, unaware that a police patrol was closely following them.

- They stopped the jeep, probably intending to load the ATM into a car. The police then caught up with them as they fled towards Duje, after which they started shooting at them again. The police returned fire, after which the robbers detached the ATM from the car and fled in the direction of Doboj - Šarić added for Republika.

Visible damage was left on the ATM, and it is not yet known if any money was taken from it during this drama. An investigation is being conducted by members of the Criminal Police Sector of the MUP of TK, and the TK Prosecutor's Office has also been informed.
