Film "Praznik rada" wins Grand Prix at Warsaw Film Festival

(Patria) - Pjer Žalica's new film "Praznik rada" (May Labour Day), which had its world premiere at the closing of this year's 28th Sarajevo Film Festival, at its first international screening - in the official program of the 38th Warsaw International Film Festival - won the Grand Prix! The award was accepted in Warsaw by the film's director, Pjer Žalica.

Following its international premiere in Warsaw, "Praznik rada" will be screened at the jubilee 20th Zagreb Film Festival in Croatia and at the 14th Eastern Neighbours Film Festival (ENFF) in Amsterdam and The Hague.

The film is currently playing in all cinemas across Bosnia and Herzegovina. In its first weekend of screening in BiH cinemas, the film recorded a record: nearly 10,000 viewers watched it, which is a new best opening result for a BiH film at the domestic box office in the last decade.

"Praznik rada" is a co-production project of five countries in the region, supported by the Sarajevo Film Fund, the EURIMAGES fund of the Council of Europe, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the national film funds of Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Montenegro, the Creative Europe - EU Media program, BH Telecom, BHRT, ARTE Kino Int., as well as numerous partners, Sarajevo Canton, and local communities.

The film stars Muhamed Hadžović, Emir Hadžihafizbegović, Admir Glamočak, Boris Isaković, Aleksandar Seksan, Mirvad Kurić, Jasna Žalica, Tatjana Šojić, Dženita Imamović Omerović, Labina Mitevska, Vedran Đekić, Branka Katić, Ermin Bravo, Branimir Popović, Adnan Goro. Tickets for all screenings of the film "Praznik rada" in cinemas across BiH are on sale at cinema box offices or online, and screening times can be found on cinema websites.
