Film “Concentrate, Grandma” watched by almost 14,000 people in 42 countries in the first two hours

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The 26th Sarajevo Film Festival opened with the world premiere of the new film by Bosnian-Herzegovinian director Pjer Žalica, "Concentrate, Grandma".

The festival recorded a new record: almost 14,000 people in 42 countries watched the world premiere of this film in the first two hours of its screening on the festival's online platform ondemand.sff.ba. The film will also be available for the next seven days on this platform worldwide.

Some members of the film crew symbolically posed for photos on the red carpet in front of the National Theatre of BiH before the screening.

All programs of the Sarajevo Film Festival, as well as the film "Concentrate, Grandma", are being shown on the online platform ondemand.sff.ba. Before the world premiere of the mentioned film, Mirsad Purivatra, Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, greeted the audience with a video message and wished them a welcome to the online edition of the festival.

"We are facing an unusual edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects, which have shaken our lives in ways unimaginable at the beginning of this year. It has once again been shown that culture, precisely in times of crisis, is the most vulnerable when it comes to its production, but also the most significant when it comes to maintaining fundamental social values. And again, this is not only true locally. Precisely at times when connections are being severed and barriers are being raised between people and countries, culture must remain one of the key links in the global framework. We have also used the crisis to introduce innovations in certain segments of the festival. This is most evident in the way the audience can follow this year's festival. On our ondemand.sff.ba platform, carefully selected films can be watched, as well as other festival content, such as talks with authors, masterclass programs, and other meetings, which makes the difference between standard VOD platforms and a true film festival," emphasized Mirsad Purivatra.
