(Patria) - Prospects for peace talks on Ukraine are already taking shape and it is possible they will be held in Turkey, said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in an interview with TV channel A Haber.
"Will a table for peace talks (on Ukraine) be set up in Turkey in the near future? We believe it will now. I believe it will happen in Turkey. It could happen elsewhere, but I am convinced that the time for peace is already here and it will come," Fidan said, TASS reported last night.
Fidan believes that the conflict in Ukraine is currently closest to its end.
"In my opinion, this war is now closest to ending. .… We see that all conditions for a ceasefire have already matured," he said.
Fidan stated that it is necessary to "hold the necessary negotiations and take steps forward".
"We have proposals in this regard. I hope they will be implemented," he added.
