Comedy Festival "Laughter is Medicine" Starts April 1st

 

Under the auspices of the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, from April 1st to 6th, the jubilee 20th comedy festival "Laughter is Medicine" will be held on the stage of the Sarajevo Culture Center (Jelića 1), it was announced by the Municipality of Centar, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Public Institution Sarajevo Culture Center, founded by the Municipality of Centar, is the only institution in Sarajevo that organizes such gatherings, bringing together theater artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia.

On the first day of the festival, Friday, April 1st, the program features "Interludes 0-24" performed by the renowned Bosnian-Herzegovinian actor Zijah Sokolović, who shares numerous reflections on seemingly trivial matters in life.

On Saturday, April 2nd, comedy lovers will have the opportunity to watch the monodrama "Nightmares of Vacation" by Rijad Gvozdenović, a humorous confession of a husband returning from his annual leave.

"We're Changing Wives" is the title of the comedy that will be performed on Monday, April 4th, by actors from the Belgrade Laughter Theater "Prizor". The text and direction are by Rade Vukotić, based on the Broadway hit "I Love My Wife".

On Tuesday, April 5th, the program includes the play "A Fool for Dinner" performed by the acting ensemble of the National Theater of Tuzla.

This year's comedy festival "Laughter is Medicine" will be closed by the famous Zagreb comedian, screenwriter, and actor Željko Pervan with his stand-up comedy show "On the Edge of Europe".

All performances start at 8 PM. Ticket sales are at the premises of the Culture Center on weekdays from 9 AM to 4 PM, on Saturdays from 12 PM to 4 PM, and two hours before the start of each performance.
