Feraget: While Dalida Burzić sits in the Prosecutor's Office, it is not possible to establish the truth

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Lawyer Ifet Feraget said in his address to the gathered citizens at today's protests for Dženan Memić that it is the „positive obligation of the state to solve every murder“.

- The murder of Dženan Memić could have been solved within the first 24 hours. We spent two and a half years proving what every fool sees from the very beginning. As a legalist, I am ready for any legal challenge, I am ready and eager for a fight and a battle in the courtroom. I challenge all nine prosecutors to a TV duel, in the courtroom, on the street, and any kind of duel. It is dishonorable to file an appeal against a first-instance verdict. The law stipulates that for factual or legal reasons, the prosecutor can drop the indictment. But only an honorable prosecutor – said Feraget.

He noted that he is not fighting for the truth, but against the corruption of the system.

- Evidence was fabricated, false expert opinions were given, false testimonies were made, and they are destroying the life of this family. The truth is the best way to fight against crime. Evidence is important, but the truth is even more important to prevent future crimes. Perhaps if the case of Dženan Memić had been solved, the case of David Dragičević would not have occurred. If we solve both murders, maybe they will stop killing our children. The investigation is prescribed by law as a procedure that must be appropriate and must bring murderers and perpetrators of crimes before the court whenever possible.

Lawyer Feraget claims that the first-instance verdict is more than a reasonable suspicion and that an order should be issued to conduct an investigation against all experts and witnesses who gave false testimony, led by Alisa Mutap.

- Alisa Mutap was contradicted by evidence in the courtroom. The court should have accepted my objection when I requested that she be removed from the courtroom. She was not removed from the courtroom, and in that way, she was destroyed as a witness who could have been re-examined. That is a failure of the court.

Feraget stated that he has „no hidden agenda“ and that he provides unconditional support to his clients.

- Dalida should have been temporarily suspended long ago. As long as she sits in the Prosecutor's Office, the fear of the prosecutors subordinate to her continues to exist. As long as fear exists, it is not possible to establish the truth, and the circle of people involved in all this is very large.

He said that the way the families of the victims are treated deserves every criticism.

- I again call on the Prosecutor's Office to drop the indictment, not to file an appeal. The deadline will expire in a few days – said Feraget, calling on all citizens to support the Memić family.
