Federal Parliament on Thursday to discuss Budget for 2018 and Law on Pension and Disability Insurance

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will hold an extraordinary session on Thursday, with the budget of the Federation of BiH for the next year, as well as the Bill on Pension and Disability Insurance on the agenda.

Both houses of Parliament previously approved the Draft Budget of the Federation of BiH for 2018, amounting to 2,875,051,837 convertible marks. Compared to this year's budget, the budget for 2018 has been increased by 127.4 million KM.
If the Draft Budget is approved by both houses before the end of the year, the Federation will have its budget for 2018 on time.

The Bill on Pension and Disability Insurance announces a new points system for calculating pension amounts in the FBiH. The new pension points system means that the pension amount will depend on the amount of pension insurance paid as well as years of service. This proposal is supported by the Pensioners' Association of the FBiH, but opposed by the Police Union, as well as the Miners' Union, who believe that the pension of a police officer or miner cannot be the same as the pension of an administrative worker, who had a higher or equal salary during their working life compared to a police officer or miner, but whose job is much easier.
