Federal Government Bans Road Blockades, Asks Police to Designate Assembly Areas

The FBiH Government today, in order to ensure the safety of citizens, the transport of passengers and goods, and unimpeded economic and financial flows, banned the blockade of all highways, regional, and main roads on the territory of the Federation of BiH, it was announced from the FBiH Government, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Government requests that the ministries of internal affairs of the cantons, in accordance with their constitutional and legal authorities, do not issue permits for gatherings to legal and/or natural persons if they assess that this will lead to endangering the safety of citizens, the transport of passengers and goods, or disrupt economic and financial flows.

Cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs have also been asked to designate adequate areas within their cantons for the assembly of citizens and/or legal entities, for the purpose of publicly expressing political, social, and other beliefs and interests, according to the Government's statement.
