A delegation of the US FBI and New York police will travel to Brussels, announced last night the New York police official responsible for counter-terrorism John Miller, stating that among the victims of yesterday's terrorist attacks in the Belgian capital there are also Americans, reports the Patria News Agency.
"Given that there are American victims and people from the US in the Brussels attacks, the FBI will also conduct the investigation, together with counter-terrorism forces from New York," Miller announced.
Four Mormon missionaries were wounded in the attacks claimed by the terrorist group Islamic State, three of them seriously, the church announced, and a member of the US military was also wounded.
"We are in constant contact with our partners across the Atlantic," Miller said.
Security has been visibly heightened in New York, especially in public transport and at airports. Around 30 people were killed and nearly 200 wounded in the attacks carried out on Tuesday morning at the airport and on the metro.
