Farmers in FBiH increased milk production, and it is also of higher quality

The total quantity of raw cow's milk collected from farmers in the Federation of BiH in October 2014 compared to October 2013 increased by 1.1%. Compared to the 2013 average, an increase of 4.0% is recorded, according to data from the Federal Institute of Statistics, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

That is not all. According to the data from this institute, there has also been an increase in the quality of milk collected on farms in FBiH. Thus, the milk fat content in October 2014 compared to October 2013 is higher by 0.8%, and compared to the 2013 average, it is higher by 1.9%. The protein content in October 2014 compared to October 2013 is higher by 2.0%, and compared to the 2013 average, it is higher by 2.8%.

In October 2014 compared to October 2013, an increase is recorded in the production of drinking milk by 1.7%, cream by 15.9%, fermented milk products by 46.7%, and cow's cheese by 32.0%, while a decrease was recorded in the production of kajmak by 6.9% and butter by 3.1%.

Compared to the 2013 average, an increase was recorded in the production of cream by 6.8%, fermented milk products by 34.2%, butter by 15.8%, and cow's cheese by 24.4%. A decrease is recorded in the production of drinking milk by 12.7% and kajmak by 28.9%.
