European Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn tweeted after a series of explosions that occurred today in Brussels, first at Zaventem airport, and then in the metro, in which more than 20 people were killed and dozens injured, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
- Terror has hit the heart of Europe. My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. Let us remain strong, fearless, loyal to our values - Hahn wrote.
All activities in European institutions have been cancelled in Brussels, and transport, the metro, and schools have been closed.
The chief prosecutor confirmed to the media that the explosion at the airport was caused by a suicide bomber.
