(Patria) - The European Commission announced that it has reviewed the developments in the Middle East and is assessing the possible spillover effects of the conflict on the European Union.
In a statement, the Commission stated that it will focus on managing any negative consequences arising from the developments in the region.
The EC emphasized that it is closely monitoring energy prices and their supply, and that it will convene an energy task force in cooperation with national authorities.
At the same time, the Commission is intensifying its monitoring of potential transport disruptions, especially in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, the statement added.
