European Right Calls for "Revolution": Islam Inspires Murders

Many far-right European parties believe that the bloody attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo proves they are right in holding onto their anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim stances, Hina reports, as reported by the Patria news agency.

Immediately after the attack, right-wing leaders accused Islam of showing its true, violent face and called for a change in European immigration policy.

"We must de-Islamize our country," said Dutch populist Geert Wilders. The leader of the opposition Freedom Party (PVV) called for the extradition of jihadists and an end to immigration from Muslim countries.

"Islam persistently inspires murders," he said. "The revolution is coming," he added.

Leader of the British UKIP party, Nigel Farage, said on television that as a consequence of multiculturalism, a small number of radicals have formed a "fifth column" in European countries. "These people live in these countries, they have our passports, and they hate us," he said.

The new German movement Pegida also believes that the Paris attacks have proven the correctness of its path.

"The Islamists that Pegida has been warning about for 12 weeks have shown in France that they are not capable of democracy but see solutions in violence and death," the organization announced on Facebook.

"Does such a tragedy have to happen here in Germany first?" they asked.

The Austrian Freedom Party has called for a more active policy in the fight against radicalization in the Muslim community. Almost 170 Austrians have joined jihadists in Iraq and Syria, according to the Austrian intelligence service.

Some of the loudest anti-Islam slogans in Europe come from the Italian Northern League, an opposition party closely linked to the French National Front.

"Let's urgently block the secret invasion. Let's check who, how, and why is financing mosques and Islamic centers," wrote Northern League leader Matteo Salvini on Facebook in his first reaction to the Paris massacre.

The third Italian political force demands that Muslims condemn the Paris attack. "There are supposedly two million Muslims in Italy. What are they waiting for, why aren't they taking to the streets to condemn this massacre?" Salvini wrote.

The populist and nationalist Swiss People's Party has not commented, only MP Waltzer Wobmann said that his country should stop accepting Iraqi and Syrian asylum seekers because they might be disguised terrorists.
