The Office of the European Union Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina supports the fifth "Photo of the Year" festival in BiH. This year's festival program includes 60 best photos from the Western Balkans region and a series of educational seminars, workshops, and exhibitions. The festival is held annually, organised by the portal Fotografija.ba, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
- It is our honour and pleasure that the Office of the European Union Special Representative has been supporting our festival for the second year in a row. For us, this represents recognition of our efforts and confirmation of the great cultural value of this project - stated Haris Čalkić, director of the festival.
- The European Union welcomes cultural and artistic events of significance in the country and beyond its borders. The exchange of artistic visions and perspectives strengthens our coexistence. "Photo of the Year" brings together artists and their works from all over BiH and the Western Balkans region, so we are pleased to be a part of this project - stated Andy McGuffie, spokesperson and Head of Communications at the Delegation of the European Union / EUSR.
The names of the festival winners will be announced at the opening ceremony in Sarajevo on January 23, 2015, at the Sarajevo City Hall.
