EURO 2020 Spain defeated Austria, Belarus better than Czech Republic

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The handball team of Spain, in the second match of Group 1 of the second round of the European Handball Championship, defeated host Austria 30:26.

A very interesting match was seen in Vienna, in which the Austrians held their own for most of the game. They were tied, and led a couple of times, however, the Spaniards broke the game in the middle of the second half when they went up by 4, which turned out to be crucial for the final triumph.

For Spain, Maqhueda was the most effective with six goals, Coralles had nine saves, including three clear chances, while for Austria, Božović scored five times against the opponent's net.

The Spaniards now have six points and have "opened the door" to the semi-finals, and will mathematically need one more win in the remaining two rounds.

In the first match of the day, in the same group, Belarus defeated the Czech Republic 28:25.

In the winning team, as many as four players scored four goals each - Karalek, Nikuleankau, Vailupau, and Yurynog. In the Czech Republic team, Zdrahala was the best.
