SARAJEVO, (Patria) - German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas stated today that the foreign ministers of the European Union member states should approve the preparation of new sanctions against Moscow, due to the persecution of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny.
I advocate for the preparation of additional sanctions, lists of specific individuals, Maas said before the meeting of EU foreign ministers, Reuters reports.
At the same time, we need to discuss how to maintain a constructive dialogue with Russia, even though relations are at a low level, Maas stated.
It is claimed that the EU is ready for travel bans and asset freezes for associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
