(Patria) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated last night that Israel is led by a structure that considers itself superior to others, warning that such a policy is gradually leading the Middle East region towards serious destabilization and disaster.
Speaking during an iftar at the presidential complex in Ankara, Erdogan touched upon the spread of conflict in the region, emphasizing that behind the latest military moves, according to him, lie deeper political motives.
He stressed that the attacks which, as he said, first hit the Gaza Strip, then Yemen and Lebanon, and more recently Iran, cannot be explained solely by security reasons.
The Turkish president also assessed that the international order established after World War II is in a serious crisis and that, as he stated, the truth about the events in the Middle East must be clearly presented to the world public.
He particularly criticized the actions of the Israeli authorities in Jerusalem, stating that, according to him, the Al-Aqsa Mosque was closed to Muslim worshippers for 17 days without legal basis. He also added that the spread of narratives about the so-called "promised land" and apocalyptic scenarios is not accidental, but part of a broader strategy.
- It is important that we free ourselves from imposed agendas and clearly point out the reality of the situation, the violence, and the dangerous dynamics that are developing to the international public - Erdogan said.
