(Patria) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey will not allow the fragmentation of Syria or the violation of its territorial integrity if diplomatic efforts to implement the integration agreement between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government fail, Reuters reported.
"We have engaged all channels of diplomacy to preserve the territorial integrity of Syria and prevent the formation of a terrorist structure across our borders," Erdogan said at an event marking the resumption of parliament's work.
"We continue to use these channels with patience, sincerity, and common sense."
"If diplomatic initiatives remain unanswered, Turkey's policy and stance are clear. Turkey will not allow a deja vu to happen in Syria," he added.
Ankara considers the SDF a terrorist organization and has warned of military action if it does not integrate into the Syrian state apparatus in accordance with the agreement with Damascus.
