
(Patria) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was re-elected president of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) today at the party's fourth extraordinary congress.
Chairman of the Congress Council Ali Ihsan Javuz said that Erdogan was re-elected president of the AK Party by receiving all 1,399 valid votes, "Daily Sabah" reported.
This is the eighth time Erdogan has been elected party leader since its founding.
The composition of the Executive Committee for Central Decisions (MKYK), which has 75 members, was also elected by the same vote.
Erdogan rejuvenated the MKYK with new and younger members.
The AK Party, which has a special focus on rejuvenation, is expected to prepare for the local elections with renewed, experienced, and energetic staff.
