(Patria) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that there are currently only two real leaders in the world, and they are him and Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports the Russian state news agency TASS.
- There are only two leaders in the world now. It's Vladimir Putin and me. I'm not saying this because I'm one of them. But I have been in office for 22 years, almost as long as Mr. Putin.
The others are gone. We want our dialogue to continue. It is important for politics to continue. For example, politics ended in Germany when Angela Merkel resigned - Erdogan stated.
🇩🇪🇷🇺🇹🇷 ERDOGAN: There are only two people left among the leaders in the world. Me and Putin.

He also said that he respects former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.
- His level of respect for us was completely different and he was a truly good leader. For example, during Ramadan, he did not drink beer at our table. He showed respect, our dialogue with Schröder continues to this day, and he even occasionally visits Turkey - Erdogan added.
In recent months, Erdogan has sought to initiate peace talks to end the war in Ukraine. He has repeatedly emphasized Turkey's firm support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
