(Patria) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today vowed that Turkey will do everything possible to hold "barbaric rule and Benjamin Netanyahu accountable," reports RSE.
On that occasion, he compared the Israeli Prime Minister to former Serbian President Slobodan Milošević, war criminal Radovan Karadžić, and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
"Turkey will do everything in its power to bring these barbarians and these murderers who have no connection to humanity to justice," Erdogan said regarding the Israeli attack on the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip at the beginning of last weekend, writes AFP.
He points out that the "massacre, a day after the International Court of Justice's appeal to halt attacks, once again showed the cruel and treacherous face of a terrorist state".
"Just like Hitler, Milošević, Karadžić, and other pharaohs of history whom they admire, they will not be able to escape damnation," Erdogan said.
Milošević was indicted by the International Tribunal in The Hague for genocide and war crimes in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo during the 1990s. However, he never lived to see the verdict, as he died in custody during the trial in 2006.
Karadžić, the first president of the Bosnian entity RS, was definitively convicted in The Hague to life imprisonment for genocide in Srebrenica, as well as for crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war in other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Palestinian authorities and Hamas accused Israel of carrying out a "massacre" by targeting a displacement center near Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, where at least 40 people were killed and 64 were injured. The Israeli army stated that the targets were terrorists.
On May 2, Turkey suspended all trade with Israel due to the "worsening humanitarian tragedy in the Palestinian territories."
