Erdogan: Israel massacres Palestinians indiscriminately in a state of madness

(Patria) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned Israel's military actions in Gaza, accusing the Israeli government of indiscriminate massacres of Palestinians and criticising the silence of the international community.

"The Israeli government, 'in a state of complete madness,' is massacring Palestinians indiscriminately," Erdogan said during a meeting of the parliamentary group for support of Palestine held in Istanbul.

He emphasised that among the killed are journalists and children, while "global media and human rights activists remain silent."

He also criticised Western countries for, as he said, double standards: "For the slightest incident, they quickly impose sanctions. But I ask – where are they now when it comes to Israel?"

Erdogan said that since October 7, 2023, "nearly 60,000 Palestinians have been brutally killed," mostly women and children, and warned that "any proposal involving the expulsion of Palestinians from their thousand-year-old land has no value for us."

He stressed that the Palestinian cause is "a struggle for dignity," but also "a struggle for humanity, peace and justice." He called on the people who survived genocide 75 years ago to raise their voices and tell their leaders: "Enough!"

He accused those who remain silent about the killings in Gaza of trying to "normalise genocide" by labelling Palestinian resistance as "terrorism."

"Our brothers and sisters in Gaza and Palestine have been subjected to one of the greatest robberies for nearly a century," Erdogan added.

The Turkish president also said that with regret and a heavy heart, he must say that "the Islamic world has also failed to fulfil what was expected of it regarding Gaza."
