SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Can one even be surprised by the statement of the President of the Government of the RS entity, Radovan Višković, that the SNSD Executive Committee did not allow the Government to increase the price of electricity? I had information that the Executive Committee manages RTRS, but I didn't know it also manages the Regulatory Agency for Electricity – stated Vukota Govedarica, member of the SDS Presidency, reacting to the latest statements by Prime Minister Višković.

“For anyone even remotely informed, such statements are scandalous. The Prime Minister does not know the legal regulations and the way in which the price of electricity is determined, or he has unknowingly presented to the public how the Executive Committee of his party does not allow it. In fact, Višković has unknowingly said that no institution in the RS has independence in its work” – explained Govedarica, reports BN.

He stated that neither the Government nor the SNSD Executive Committee approves the tariff procedure, and that Višković, as a member of the SNSD Executive Committee and as President of the Government, has no authority over the decision regarding the increase in the price of electricity.

“All of this also applies to the General Director of Elektroprivreda. Where does he get the right to announce an increase in the price of electricity without a final decision from the Regulatory Agency for Electricity? In European Union countries, such an approach, where a political party and the Government as an executive body are favored, is subject to the strictest responsibility because interference in the work of the independent Regulatory Agency, which is solely competent for these issues, is unacceptable” – stated the member of the SDS Presidency.
