The entity border must not be the Great Wall of China

 

The Association of Intellectuals of Podrinje, as part of the campaign to activate neglected and stalled processes, sent a request on December 1, 2014, to all parliamentary groups in the Assembly of Tuzla Canton to specify a date for receiving the delegation of our Association for a meeting to discuss the attitude of the authorities in TC towards Podrinje, reports the Patria News Agency. 

Topics and theses for the meetings were proposed, and the following problems were highlighted: the position and condition of displaced persons from Podrinje in the Tuzla Canton area, the return of displaced and expelled persons to their pre-war residences, the representation of the rights and interests of the people of Podrinje until and after their return to their pre-war residences, the problems of expelled and displaced persons residing in the Tuzla Canton area, and the problems of returnees from TC to their pre-war residences in Podrinje, which are directly or indirectly related to the competent institutions in Tuzla Canton (health and social care, housing, education, employment...).

We received invitations for meetings and held discussions at the agreed times with MPs from the Democratic Front and the Alliance for a Better Future. SDA officially announced that they would inform us about the meeting date later, and we received an announcement from the People's Party Work to Betterment that they would set a date for the discussion.

Given that we sent the invitations for discussion specifically at a time when the executive government in Tuzla Canton is being formed and when the budget framework for 2015 is being created, our intention is to open and activate topics that have been persistently and wisely silenced in recent years, in order to plan the inevitable processes in a timely manner.

We invite MPs from parties that have duly received our request and have not yet responded to find time to discuss these and other current issues. We will continue our public advocacy campaign for processes that must be accelerated and intensified in this direction. Processes that have been marginalized and neglected for years.

        

Podrinje is territorially, economically, morally, and materially connected to the Tuzla Canton area, and the authorities must not be allowed to view the entity border like the Great Wall of China and use alleged lack of jurisdiction as an excuse for inaction.

Therefore, we announce the continuation and intensification of our campaign, the ultimate result of which will be a change in the current passive attitude towards Podrinje and its people, and we will inform the authorities and the general public about the results, it was announced from the Association of Intellectuals of Podrinje.
