Emrić for NAP: The US expects the adoption of the Annual National Programme for NATO

(Patria) - Following the official meetings of US representatives and the Club for European Integration and Security Issues of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was recently on a visit to the US, Jasmin Emrić, A-SDA representative in the House of Representatives of the PA BiH told Patria that the general impression is that all American hosts of the meetings were very interested in the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"After all the planned meetings of this study visit to the United States of America were concluded, the general impression is that all American hosts of the meetings were very interested in the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in the current situation regarding the adoption of the Annual National Programme for NATO," says Emrić.

He particularly wants to emphasize the great interest in Bosnia and Herzegovina shown by all senators and congressmen with whom they spoke.

"They clearly expressed their support for our country to develop a democratic system, the rule of law, civil and media freedoms, but they also made it clear that a halt is expected to all legislative procedures related to the militarization of police forces at the entity level, as well as restrictions on freedom of expression and public assembly.

The message from the American officials with whom we spoke is that we all must take responsibility for the further European path of our country, that we work faster and more efficiently to strengthen institutions for the integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the European Union, they encourage us and expect the adoption of the Annual National Programme for NATO, and they expressed interest and assistance in creating a safe and business environment, as well as stimulating investments in the energy sector and infrastructural development of our country," adds Emrić.

In addition to meetings with congressmen and senators, the representatives also attended a Commemoration in Congress, marking July 11. The commemoration was organized by the BiH Advisory Council.
