Emir Selimović sentenced to 45 years in prison for murder of wife Inela and minor son

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Tuzla has issued a first-instance verdict against Emir Selimović for double murder, imposing a single sentence of long-term imprisonment lasting 45 years.

Selimović was found guilty of murdering his wife Inela Selimović and their minor son, committed on February 12, 2025, in their shared apartment in Kalesija.

According to the indictment, the crime was carried out in a treacherous manner while the victims were sleeping - they were killed by suffocation.

The court imposed a sentence of long-term imprisonment of 44 years for each murder individually, and applying legal provisions on concurrent offenses, imposed a single sentence of 45 years.

The defendant's detention has been extended, which may last a maximum of nine months from the date of the verdict.
