
(Patria) - Elvir Osmanović was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the murder of Hamdija Mujić, committed two years ago in Lukavac.
The Cantonal Court in Tuzla, in the first-instance proceedings against O.E., publicly announced the verdict by which the accused was found guilty of the criminal offense of "murder" and sentenced to fifteen years in prison.
O.E. was found guilty of having, on May 5, 2022, at around 6:50 a.m. in Lukavac, after arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the intention of killing M.H., whom he had previously accused of being in a relationship with his wife, hidden behind a residential building and waited for the victim.
He then physically attacked him with a blunt, hard mechanical object known to him and a hard mechanical object similar to a knife, as well as with blows from clenched fists of a swung arm.
During the attack, he inflicted multiple blows on M.H., mostly in the head area, thereby causing him serious bodily injuries dangerous to life, as a result of which the victim died on the same day.
The accused was also imposed a security measure of mandatory psychiatric treatment while serving the prison sentence.
His detention was extended, which may last a maximum of nine months, counting from the day of the verdict until being sent to serve the prison sentence.
This verdict is not final, as the parties have the right to appeal it, the Cantonal Court in Tuzla announced today.
