Elektroprivreda BiH postpones ceremony in RMU Breza due to accident in Zenica

Due to the mining accident that occurred yesterday in Zenica and the rescue operation for 34 miners from the Raspotočje mine, the ceremony for commissioning the new mechanized longwall complex in RMU "Breza" has been cancelled, reports Patria agency.

- Out of solidarity with the miners of RMU "Zenica", the official commissioning of the new mechanized longwall complex in the Kamenice mine and the repaired longwall complex in the Sretno mine of RMU "Breza", scheduled for Friday, 05.09.2014, is postponed - it was announced from JP Elektroprivreda BiH.

Otherwise, the general director of JP EP BiH Elvedin Grabovica and the federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić also arrived at the scene last night.

Miners from RMU Breza, Đurđevik, and Kakanj joined the rescue operation, arriving at the scene last night and starting manual excavation to reach the 34 miners at a depth of 550 meters.
