Elektroprivreda BiH: Resuming Disconnections for Debtors

(Patria) - Following the declaration of a state of natural disaster in FBiH caused by the COVID-19 virus, Elektroprivreda BiH has strongly engaged in implementing activities and measures aimed at preserving the stability of the power system, continuous supply, and providing various forms of protection and assistance to electricity customers.

Adjustments to extraordinary circumstances were applied in the areas of distribution and supply, by suspending electricity disconnections due to debt and the calculation of default interest, reducing the duration of planned disconnections, and harmonizing the operation of payment points. For the protection of customers and employees, enhanced hygiene and epidemiological measures were applied at all payment points, while electricity consumption readings were taken once every two months (estimation method), to minimize direct contact. In order to ensure a stable and continuous supply of electricity, the production process was organized in so-called closed cycles in isolation, lasting for 14 days.

Given that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Decision on the Abolition of the State of Natural Disaster on May 29, 2020, Elektroprivreda BiH is obliged to adapt its business processes to the regular mode of operation and applicable legal provisions.

We hereby inform our valued customers that Elektroprivreda BiH, starting from July 1, 2020, will resume regular readings of electricity consumption and other related activities that were suspended during the period of the Decision on the Declaration of a State of Natural Disaster.

Elektroprivreda has called on customers to settle their debts in a timely manner, in order to continue fulfilling their contractual obligations without arrears and avoid incurring additional costs.
