Elektroprivreda BiH makes decision on miners

(Patria) - After miners in several mines in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are part of the Elektroprivreda BiH concern, refused to go down into the mine today, starting a strike due to today's decision by the company "Elektroprivreda BiH" to pay its employees a one-time aid of 750 KM, while employees in the mines were not included in this decision, they confirmed for N1 that this problem will be resolved.

Namely, Elektroprivreda BiH stated for N1 that the managements of the mines have been instructed to make identical decisions and pay the amount of 750 KM.

Slightly earlier, we spoke with the Federal Minister of Energy and Mining, Nermin Džindić, who told us that he will hold a meeting with representatives of the miners next week.

As he told us, a specific date is awaited, but it is possible that the meeting will be held as early as Tuesday.

"To find the best solution for the miners' demands, both today's ones concerning the one-time aid that EP workers will receive, as well as negotiations on a new collective agreement, which was also the reason for the recent short-term warning strike by miners from the EP Concern, given that the current collective agreement expires by the end of the year," Džindić said.

Let us remind you, as stated by Sinan Husić, president of the Independent Trade Union of Mine Workers of FBiH, work was suspended in the mines of Breza, Zenica, Kakanj, Tuzla, Kreka.

Work was being done in the Raspotočje mine at the beginning of the strike due to equipment protection, however, they soon joined their colleagues.

A press conference of the Management Board of the Independent Trade Union of Mine Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding this topic is also announced for tomorrow.
