SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Economy of the Central Bosnia Canton Nisvet Hrnjić and Prime Minister of SBK Tahir Lendo signed concession agreements today with Admir Anđelija, General Director of Elektroprivreda BiH, for two photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 50 MW on the mining surfaces of the Gračanica Bugojno Coal Mine.
According to Anđelija, this is an investment worth between 55 and 60 million KM.
- These are currently our largest solar power plants that we plan to build. The investment is between 55 and 60 million KM, and for us, this is one of the most important energy facilities using renewable energy sources. In this area, we also plan the Vlašić wind farm for which we have a signed concession agreement, so the SBK region, when it comes to energy infrastructure, can be the center of events. The agenda of Elektroprivreda and the state is to gradually transition to renewable energy sources - said Anđelija.
Hrnjić said that with this project, SBK is close to energy self-sufficiency.
- The project will mean a lot for the overall energy balance of the Canton. For several years, we have been working on an energy needs balance that showed that in SBK, about 71 percent of consumption is covered by production. With the installation of these power plants and their annual production, SBK will approach energy self-sufficiency - said Hrnjić.
