Explosion at arms factory, four injured

In the "Milan Blagojević - Namjenska" company in Lučani this morning around nine o'clock, a fire broke out in which three people were slightly injured and one seriously, Tanjug was told by the Ministry of Defence of Serbia, reports the Patria news agency.

The fire occurred at a gunpowder press, and the injured were transported to the Čačak hospital with burns, the ministry added.

The director of the Čačak hospital, Radoslav Milošević, told Tanjug that two patients from Lučani, who were caught by the fire, are currently being treated in the operating room, one is in intensive care, and one person sustained minor injuries. He added that the injured will be transported to the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade.

As Tanjug was informed by the Department for Emergency Situations of the Moravički District, Namjenska in Lučani has its own fire protection service which localized the fire.

An investigation at the scene is being conducted by the Deputy Public Prosecutor in Čačak, Jasmina Lozović, with the presence of police officers who are determining the circumstances of the fire's outbreak.
