(Patria) - An explosion occurred in the center of Zagreb this morning around 9 AM on the roof of a building located on Strossmayer Square.
The Zagreb police confirmed that one worker was injured, and traffic was temporarily suspended.
Croatian media report that a so-called "bell" exploded, a projectile that was part of banned cluster bombs used by Serbs to shell Zagreb on May 2 and 3, 1995.
An intensive police investigation is underway at the scene on Strossmayer Square.
A police team and bomb disposal experts could not reach the roof of the building where the explosion occurred "on foot," so Zagreb firefighters were called to lift them to the very top using ladders in the safest possible way.
