Explosion in front of journalist Tihomir Bradvica's house: It won't scare me

In Ljubuški, a device exploded in front of the Bradvica family home in Ljubuški during the night of August 17. The main target of the attack is engineer Tihomir Bradvica, editor of the portal Ljubuski.net, a person who has been strongly publicly engaged for a long time in exposing all forms of deviant social phenomena, not only in Ljubuški, but also in the West Herzegovina Canton, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The attack came after a series of repeated threats to Bradvica, after warning graffiti, obstruction of investigations, and attempts to cover up criminal acts by government structures.

Tihomir Bradvica writes and is very active in Ljubuški. The portal Ljubuski.net called on all citizens to publicly condemn this insidious act, and to stand together in defense of social values and people's property, and to defend the space of public discourse.

In a statement to the Patria news agency, Bradvica said that his mother was injured by the shattered glass from the explosion.

- The explosion was right next to the family home. I believe the perpetrator will be found, but the problem is that the masterminds will remain in the shadows and untouchable. A fool can be found for little money to do a dishonorable deed.

For years, all sorts of lies have been fabricated against Bradvica, he is constantly being framed for things he has nothing to do with, in order to portray him in a negative light.

- I am not a member of any party, I do not belong to any political option. I am an intellectual and I try to be an honorable and honest man. I am a mechanical engineer. I haven't told anyone before, but I am the person who won Caterpillar's management workshop in the Netherlands. But, I haven't been working in my profession for three years, because I don't feel like it.

When asked how that is possible, Bradvica says that high school students rule the country and society.

- The essence of this disastrous situation is that intellectuals have been deprived of the influence they should have in any society for years. Mediocrities and the most primitive people with secondary education rule. That is precisely why I am subjected to attempts to frame me in public, attempts to discredit me in every way. But, they are not succeeding. My fellow citizens know me as one of them, a loyal man who wishes only good for his community and his city and canton.

Bradvica states that the situation in Ljubuški is critical, with the municipality's debt exceeding 20 million marks.

- At the cantonal level, the debt is over 100 million. That is too much for less than 100,000 inhabitants. Many companies have gone bankrupt. Debts are coming due, and the canton continues to borrow between 7 and 10 million KM annually.

This journalist states that teachers' salaries were recently reduced, debts are growing, and there is no progress or employment.

- Let's speak the truth. This is not Croatian, but anti-Croatian policy and anti-Croatian interest.

When asked if he believes the investigation will succeed in identifying both the perpetrator and the mastermind, Bradvica expressed doubt.

- No, I don't believe so. I was physically attacked before by some people from the government. The trial was a farce against me as well. I don't trust the mayor Bradvica, I don't trust the people in power, Zdenko Ćosić, Zdravko Boras, the director of the cantonal police administration Milenko Madunović. I don't trust them because they give weapons to people with criminal records and criminal backgrounds. The director of the Border Police, Zoran Galić, also does this. Yes, that is terrible. In any case, the Federal Police Administration is investigating this.          

Bradvica says he is not scared or discouraged and will continue for the good of his city and canton.
