
In the Sarajevo neighborhood of Grbavica, shortly after 3 PM, a strong explosion was heard, followed by a fire on the top floor of a building in Hasana Brkića Street, reports the Patria news agency.
As confirmed to us by the duty officer at the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, police were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters are also on the ground. The Ministry of Interior has no official confirmation, but unofficially we learn that it was a gas explosion and that one person was injured.
Azra Dedajić, head of the Information Service of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, confirmed to Patria that patient S.A., born in 1982, was admitted to the Emergency Medical Center.
"The patient sustained life-threatening burns. 30 percent of the body is affected, and he has been placed in the Clinic for Anesthesia and Reanimation," said Dedajić.
The entire building has been evacuated.
